QUALITY AT THE HEART OF OUR BUSINESS

CAILLEAU Herbalist, mastery of plants and commitment to plant safety

In a particularly demanding plant sector, CAILLEAU Herboristerie makes every effort to guarantee the quality and safety of its plants, based on official standards and recognized expertise. From botanical and analytical control to storage conditions, traceability, certifications and strict compliance with best practices, we ensure rigorous compliance and lasting confidence at every stage of our work.

We want to build lasting relationships with our producers. It is through this close cooperation that we can achieve quality control and continuous crop improvement. This is how we continuously develop the quality control of our products.

This plant quality is expressed in several ways:

Botanical quality

Thanks to its expertise in the plant sector and the experience of its teams, CAILLEAU Herboristerie systematically carries out macroscopic identification of plants as soon as they are received. Where necessary, additional analyses are carried out using official references such as Pharmacopoeias, including Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC).

Analytical quality

To guarantee consumer safety, we follow a strict control plan and call on specialist laboratories to carry out toxicological (pesticides, heavy metals) and microbiological analyses. These checks ensure the analytical conformity of the plants we distribute, and protect everyone's health.

Organoleptic quality

We take great care to preserve the olfactory, gustatory and visual qualities of our plants until they reach our customers. To achieve this, we create the best storage and transport conditions, notably by controlling hygrometry and temperature. In the same way, we work on the plants as late as possible to maintain their freshness.

The HACCP approach

Our priority is to ensure the safety of our consumers. This is why we have implemented an HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) study within our facilities, to control all our processes and guarantee their reliability. This analysis has enabled us to identify and evaluate four main categories of potential hazards.

Hazards considered :

Biological

Pathogenic flora (salmonella, E. coli, enterobacteria, molds, etc.), possible presence of insects or rodents/volatiles.

Chemicals

Pesticide residues, heavy metals, contaminants linked to food contact, chemical substances, GMOs, mycotoxins or PAHs.

Physics

Foreign objects such as glass, plastic, metal, wood, unwanted plants or allergens.

Other

identification issues.

Hazard control

Once we had identified the hazards that could arise on our premises, we put in place various means of control adapted to each risk.

Bacterial flora

We strictly apply good hygiene practices and monitor the effectiveness of our cleaning plan through regular microbiological testing.

Insects

Our buildings are protected by pheromone traps, glue strips and electric shredders. The premises are treated by a specialized company, using only products authorized for use in organic farming.

Rodents

Strategically located traps ensure the security of our facilities. This system is monitored and managed by a specialist company.

Allergens

We clean equipment thoroughly between each production run to avoid cross-contamination. Products are also stored in clearly delimited areas.

Pesticides

No pesticides are used on our premises.

Foreign bodies

Magnets are placed at the output of the machines to eliminate ferrous elements. For batches containing non-ferrous foreign bodies, we use a Zig-zag sorter, which separates components according to density using an air gradient.

Identification

The expertise of our staff, combined with the work of laboratories specialized in perfume, aromatic and medicinal plants (LPPAM), guarantees the identity of the plants we market.

Traceability

We use dedicated management software, coupled with a scanning and bar-coding system, to avoid filling or order-picking errors. This system ensures complete batch tracking and optimum responsiveness in the event of a complaint or product recall.

Partner laboratories

The quality of our plants is regularly tested by certified laboratories, a guarantee of reliability and conformity.
