Since 1868, Cailleau Herboristerie has been exercising its profession with passion in the heart of the Anjou region, in the town of Chemillé-en-Anjou, the capital of medicinal plants.
We gradually specialized instead in the selection, processing and packaging of plants.
Today, we offer our clients a range of nearly 800 plants available in different forms (including 150 with Ecocert organic certification).
In our workshops, we work our plants to order as per our clients’ requests (cutting, sifting, ventilating, washing, sorting, grinding into powder, and so on). We offer a debacterization service in partnership with our sister company PHB to meet the requirements of certain business sectors.
Once sorted and selected, the plants are packaged in our workshops, bulk, vacuum-packed, in packets with windows, capsules and/or tea bags. We also have a line of essential oils, as well as dietary supplements which come in a variety of forms: alcohol-free macerates, capsules and chewables.
Our commitment to our growers allows us to guarantee complete traceability of our plants while promoting products “made in France” whenever possible, in line with our goal of offering only the highest quality of plants. We can also cultivate plants on a dedicated basis for our clients. In 2013, the Brard family took over the company, with the main goal of improving plant quality by setting up a system with the producers for sharing and passing on expertise and know-how. The creation of Cailleau Pharmaceutique in 2016 was the result of the commitment to guaranteeing quality plants with traceability from the producer to the finished good.
Our pharmacist inspects and approves all incoming materials and performs testing in accordance with current standards: physical/chemical, bacteriological, pesticides, mycotoxins and heavy metals, either systematically or based on a sampling plan.
